HR leaders are being tasked with not only identifying and implementing the best solutions for their organizations, but also driving adoption. After all, even the best technology that promises the most benefits can be successful only if it’s adopted and utilized as intended by HR teams and their employees. As Josh Bersin of Bersin by Deloitte has discussed on several occasions, despite the boom in technology innovation, business productivity has been relatively stagnant, leaving a huge and growing gap in business performance potential. Given technological advances and the power we now have with computers and mobile devices, this gap is completely contrary to what one might expect. Likely the single biggest obstacle to closing this gap is the fact that fully utilizing technology requires behavioral change and humans simply take time to evolve their behavior.
